SOPHIE BURGHAM is an illustrator and designer based on the south coast of England. Sophie practices primarily with Indian ink and watercolour creating idiosyncratic lines and drawings inspired by her love of natural landscapes; woodlands and the sea.

Sophie studied illustration and art history and began her career in the nostalgic world of herbaria and museum archives. Sophie worked with Botanical Gardens at Kew, The Natural History Museum and Historic England on curating their collections, fuelling her imagination with the histories and beauties of mother nature. Sophie then moved into publishing and design for fashion and lifestyle magazines Elle, Red and Good Housekeeping.

Since founding her personal studio in 2018, Sophie has worked on a broad range of commissions, from wedding and events stationary, as featured in Vogue, editorial design and illustration work for books, branding and retreats.
